[EXCLUSIVE] Visitors of Warsaw, Does This Happen in Your City Too???

Before we get straight to the point, we’d like to ask you this: in „your cities in Western Europe”—frequently held up as examples by Warsaw’s Mayor, Rafał Trzaskowski—are your lives being „furnished” in a similar way? We pose this question as the only local portal made up of experts in Warsaw’s history, its infrastructure, landmarks, and monuments. Our mission is to encourage residents to think critically and independently, while safeguarding their wallets. With that in mind, we’re keen to hear your thoughts on the management of our city, as illustrated by this story.

The Impossible Becomes Possible

As the world advances into the era of artificial intelligence, Warsaw seems to be moving in a different direction. Under Mayor Rafał Trzaskowski’s leadership, the city appears to have, for years, tolerated and even fostered officials dealing with—without exaggeration—serious mental health challenges, irrational fears, or blatant incompetence. Sadly, these individuals are obstructing Warsaw’s progress, pulling the city backward. Their obsessions, irrational fears (such as aversions to cars and parking spaces), and seemingly deliberate, spiteful decisions cast serious doubt on their ability to make sound judgments.

Here’s something to consider: if Trzaskowski becomes President of Poland, will he manage the country in the same way he „furnishes” Warsaw?

Now it’s time to speak out about the state of one of Warsaw’s key institutions—the City Roads Authority (Zarząd Dróg Miejskich). Like many cities, Warsaw depends on this office to manage critical infrastructure. However, its director, Łukasz Puchalski, has reportedly caused tens of millions in financial losses due to aforementioned delusions and obsessions. Shockingly, this has been tolerated by Mayor Trzaskowski for years. The evidence? See the photo below for yet another glaring example.

It’s no surprise that 90% of Warsaw’s media, deeply influenced by city hall, will turn a blind eye to these issues. For years, they’ve been telling us „simpletons” that all of this is for our own good—for progress and the advancement of civilization. This same justification has been used to defend two exploitative systems introduced unlawfully—without any legal or substantive basis. Unfortunately, similarly to now banned fact-checkers on Facebook, these systems, the Clean or Low-Emission Transport Zone and the Paid Parking Zone—are nothing more than ideological constructs.

According to Mayor Rafał Trzaskowski, the planet is already burning. Yet, these systems are nothing more than financial mechanisms and tools designed to exploit citizens and their wallets, while functioning with virtually no restrictions.

For clarity, let’s outline the issue: these parking spaces have been in use since the mid-1980s, serving residents, visitors, suppliers, and customers of nearby businesses. There’s even a parking meter visible in the background, but it’s now rendered useless because some „genius” decided to install bollards. Notably, bollards have become a thriving business in Warsaw (see another photo below).

Local residents—many of whom have lived in the area for decades and are voices worth hearing—claim that removing this small but essential parking area has a clear motive: to bankrupt the nearby commercial pavilion and sell the land cheaply to „friendly” developers.

Stay tuned for our next in-depth article about Warsaw! Though, real estate development in Warsaw is a subject for another, equally troubling article—one that may be shocking to Warsaw’s visitors and people around the world….
